EXCELLENCE, INTEGRITY, COMMUNITY
Crossings Dance opened in September 1991 with a vision to nurture the love of dance by providing a healthy and well-balanced approach to technical and artistic dance training.
The Crossings Dance Philosophy
Crossings is a non-competitive dance training school dedicated to concert-style dance education that emphasizes building a strong technical foundation, developing artistry, and exploring a broad range of movement styles. We focus on cultivating technical and artistic versatility, performance quality, musicality, and the ability to convey narrative and story through dance.
Our unique approach blends solid technique with creative expression in a positive, nurturing environment that encourages personal growth, deeper connection to the art form, and community. We believe dance shapes not only physical skill but also character, confidence, creativity, and meaningful connection.
As certified educators committed to safe, developmentally appropriate training, we uphold best practices through affiliations with respected organizations such as RAD, ISTD, Acrobatic Arts, Healthy Dancer Canada, IADMS, and Alberta Dance Educators. This ensures every dancer receives professional instruction tailored to their age and level.
At Crossings, every dancer’s journey is honored—whether their goal is joy, community, or a professional career. Our programs nurture the whole dancer—body, mind, and spirit—within a supportive community grounded in excellence, integrity, and care.
We prioritize mentorship and leadership development as key components of a dancer’s growth, empowering students not only to excel technically and artistically but also to become confident leaders within the dance community.
Drawing from our Christian roots, Crossings takes a holistic approach, treating each person with respect and dignity while creating space for personal growth (body, mind, spirit).
We welcome you to our community and look forward to introducing you to the exciting world of dance.
Gratefully.

CYDC is an inspiring contemporary company dedicated to nurturing the whole dancer—body, mind, and spirit. Through mentorship and performance opportunities, dancers develop their artistry, gain valuable performance experience, and thoughtfully integrate faith into their creative expression. CYDC equips young artists with the tools and insight to pursue dance with excellence and purpose.
Working with local, national, and international choreographers to create a full-length theatre production is part of our artistic mentorship commitment. In addition, CYDC provides opportunities for dancers to develop their creative voice, connect their dancing with their spiritual journey and enhance their experience of dance, faith, and life.
